Can We Talk Value?

Can we talk….woman to woman, man to woman?  Have you ever been so clouded by doubt, felt so empty inside, felt so unfulfilled, unworthy, hopeless and devalued?  Where nothing you do seems right.  Where you are fed by negative talk and where so much of those thoughts lead you to contemplate the inevitable.  Well if you answered yes, then this post is for you.  Today we are going to talk about value and why you are worthy of it.

Last week I stumbled upon a snippet of TD Jakes’ talk show.  In the episode he was discussing value and the importance of being kind to you.  In the show Mr. Jakes crumbled up, stepped on, tugged at, and tore into two pieces a hundred dollar bill.  I know right….crazy.  Well do you know after he did all that to the bill what happened to the value of the hundred dollar bill once it was taped back together?  It never changed; it never lost its value.  It still was worth one hundred dollars.  Now I do not know where you are at right now in your life or how you are feeling while reading this post, but you are every bit worth a million heck a trillion dollars….and you have been since the day you were born.  I know, I understand you have been through enough where like the hundred dollar bill you have been tugged at, stomped on, and ripped apart.  I am telling you today, if no one has ever uttered these words to you before, that you are worthy….that you have value and that has never and will never change.  No matter what life throws your way:  No matter what lie you have been fed to believe, no matter who hurt you, no matter who tore you down, no matter who beat you, no matter who cheated on you, no matter who sexually abused you, no matter who bullied you, no matter who manipulated you, no matter who intimidated you, no matter who was jealous of you, no matter who went out of their way to make you feel devalued.  YOU are NO MATTER what valued.  You are worthy.  You are useful.  You are important.  And You are, most importantly, of the most high.

Pick yourself back up today.  Piece yourself together like the tape did to the hundred dollar bill and know that there is nothing that you cannot rise above from when you know that you have value.  When you are down, there is nowhere to go but up.  Life is all about perspective.  Get yourself some good perspective and surround yourself with good people and see how your life begins to transform itself.
