Man oh man…don’t you know that when it rains it pours. Often times when we focus on the rain in our lives which symbolizes the things going wrong in it, it’s hard to focus on how much is going right. The reason being could be that you are in a constant uphill battle with self, you have strained relationships with others, and you spend many a day’s being frustrated, misunderstood or angry. What eve the case may be it is when we are the most stressed and pressed, I like to say, that we should look for opportunities to express thankfulness for all that we have. It could be as simple as thanking God or that higher power for giving you breathe.
Gratitude has helped me to get out of bed on days I felt I could not face the world. Gratitude has transformed my life …I no longer feel victim to the illness that is within me and of my life. Gratitude has made me a happier and less anxious woman. Gratitude has me asking the Lord to reveal to me how can He use me. How can I be of service while I am here on this earth?
Now I know I am not perfect by any means but I am handling life in a better and more consistent manner by putting to practice gratefulness. I want this post if nothing else to make you think about the power that is possessed in gratitude and being grateful.
If that is not enough to convince you let us see what science and religion has to say about gratitude. Religion and science are usually never on the same page, but, when it comes to gratitude they are. Religion and research alike have all proven that there are many benefits to being thankful – mental, emotional, and physical. Research suggests that being grateful is not only good for our immune system, but it also warns away depression and increases your mental awareness. Not only that but when you are cultivating an attitude of gratefulness you do not have time to play the victim, you instead take charge of your life.
I ask you today, are you ready to take charge of your life by practicing gratefulness? If you are, I want you to share with me and the rest of my readers, 5 things that you are grateful for. And let us take it one step farther, I want you to make it a habit to write the things that you are grateful for on a post it and display it where you can see it as often as you need to. I guarantee you will start to see a big change in your attitude by implementing this method.
As always I thank you for reading.
Until next time,
Take care and be true.
